Wow! Almost one year already since my last post! I guess no one really care, who else logs on to blogger when twitters and facebooks are so much funner!

There had been a couple of changes in my life since the beginning of the year, most notably my ORD. Two years now seem incredibly short ... NS in Chong Pang camp was beyond words.. I dunno whether I should be saying this but hell I thoroughly enjoyed my time in NS. 7 Weeks in Tekong Chalet, 3 months in ARC playground, burnt 2 months in Gedong desert and finally spent the rest of my NS in cloud 7 Chong Pang. Made many friends, really hope we would keep in touch. Aloysius, Rey, Hong Shern, Mao, Samuel, Joseph, Chia & Matthew (writing their names down just in case... my memory of ppl's name is pathetic) are ppl who left a significant impression, they are many more but as i said.. my memory of names is really pathetic... really struggling to put names to faces sometimes, really worries me u know, am I suffering from some kind of Alzheimer.

Anyway what prompted me to write this post is the movie Freedom Writers. I just caught it on dvd (rented by my dad) and it gave me so much inspiration. The movie is (a ture story) about a determined first time teacher going against adversity to unite a group of disillusioned students and eventually inspired them to become freedom writers. ok fine i know my describtion is awful.. tt brings me to the reason why I am reluctant to write blogs, i guess i am too conscious about my not so perfect english. You know being a soon to be teacher and all, i really have to improve on my writing skills. I always envy ppl who could easily write and express themselves. Americans in those damn Hollywood films always appeared so versatile and are able to so naturally express themselves! It made me really jealous, sometimes even ashamed that we (as in Singaporeans? or mayb Asians in general or mayb just me...) still lacked very much in the ability to communicate effectively and freely. It is their culture tt really intrigues me.... aiya i am too lazy to elaborate.. crap.. do u know how many times i visted dictionary.com writing this post jus to make sure my spellings are right argh!! really gotta improve..

A new year with a new room

Took a couple of days off to work on my room last mth.. giving it a much needed revamp.

Added new coat of paint and repositioned the items in my room. Felt satisfied and good to have accomplised something other than killing monsters in the virtual world. ;)

A big thanks to my gf who helped with the painting. I would have drowned in the sea of paint without her painting untiringly throughout the afternoon.

Bui is flying of to japan again! what a wonderful jet setting lifestyle ... Xy's dad just came from Dubai couple of days ago bringing back huges Abu Dhabi t-shirts for everyone.. N Xy himself is travelling to Thailand again in search of his Thai princess .. Oh man how they made me feel like travelling to a foreign land too..

Back to the subject. Yesterday I finally had the chance to bring out my board game from my dusty wardrobe with everyone gathered @ Bui's.

Spot my undie..

It started off with me explaining the game Puerto Rico to the female xy, ming ming and "bear" while the male xy and bui is already eagering discussing strategy to screw my game plan up (due to the fact i owned them twice the previous time, hee) interrupting my speech on and off. Both the male xy and bui insisted enthusiastically that i started first (which I haven really figure out why..)

It was really fun and pleasant to be able to gather together again with everyone present to enjoy a light-hearted yet challenging boardgame. Through out the game you can see cute images of the male xy and bui whispering suspiciously to each other while stealing glances at me.

At the opposite end the female xy and ming ming were also whispering to each other during each of their turn though with less evil intent and i suspect most of the time it's the female xy explainging the game to the clueless ming ming.

Deserted @ a corner is the "BEar" making noob mistakes every turn and turning to scream @ the tv accusing the Manchester United players of being Noob (they lost 2-1 to arsenal). When i think of it.. it's actually the noob mistakes that the "Bear" made that really screw my game up... Did bui and the male xy secretly "whisper" to him during my toilet breaks?? -_-

The game ended with Bui victorious with : 50 pts
The team of the female xy and ming ming : 47 pts
Me being too distracted the whole game : 46 pts
The male xy n his bro "Bear" both each: 38 pts

It was a good game and the female xy and ming ming were surprisingly quick get into the game. Bui's victory was expected with his enormous brain @ work (and blind sided the poor male xy) haha! Next time me and the male xy would be the one whispering suspiciously at one corner! Good day Good fun! Till next time! Ciao.

Crawled out of bed in the wee hours to catch the match between Chelsea and Liverpool only to fell asleep during the half time break. Damn. Missed that Torres goal.

Taunts would fly. I know.
My unfaltering support and believe for Liverpool would be mocked. I know.

This would be another throphyless season for the great club.
A season tarnished by shameful disputes between two fat Americans.

So what? Liverpool FC would still be the best club in my heart.
And I believe one day (very soon) they would make their fans real proud again.

I have jus recieved the news that i am being posted permanently to Chong Pang Camp which is 15 mins walk away from my home but little did it cheer me up as none of my great friends are joining me there. Oh man today is certainly the lowest point of my NS, never felt so down.

Hello Friends and Family, after 7 weeks of enjoyable stay in Singapore's very own Tekong Chalet i am back! Yes! The incredible hock strikes back! woo~

The past 7 weeks have not been really fulfilling been kinda growing fat instead of growing fit... urm can't elaborate further cos my officer said it is a court marshal offense to reveal anything in that's happening in camp and specifically not to "brog" it. *roll eyes*

Finally 2 decades old and time to serve the country, feeling a mixture of dread and excitement, I have 2 more days of freedom!! Blog postings would be rare and far between (although now already rare and far between hehe) but my blog would never be dead! No No No.

yea went in lor nothing to do anyway and we saw a scary exhibit

they were exhibiting funeral objects.. those paper stuff that you burn

creepy! we ran out straightaway from that room

then we visited the stones exhibit the stones looked like food

and they were put into plates and bowls and named fried rice, abalone...ewww

but theres a stone which was really cool the chocolate stone!

it smells of chocolate but of course cant eat it

then we watched the fireworks display from outside the museum!

wasn't very magnificent though i think its cos its just a preview

went into the museum again for another exhibit

and we got some nice drawing to bring home well not exactly drawing but didn't know what its called"

I am done working in for the Garden. I am leaving, not excactly quitting as I am a mere temp stuff there. The paranoia feeling that surrounds every level of management is simply sick. And I am sick of being in this kind of hopeless system. The recent Jack Neo movie 'Just follow law' depict the situation in a public sector office to near perfection. Having being employed under three different statuatory board, I can't agree more with the way the management is being portrayed.

Sending out e-mails are like shooting deadly arrows, I love~ this metaphor. It really pissed me off to receive evil e-mails from the higher management, just because they are high they thought they could act like zeus throwing down lightings (ermmm that's abit off). Where has all the inspiring speeches, convincing and sound reasoning gone to? Has it all depreciate to all these depressing 'Please take me seriously e-mails'?? Anyway I don't really give a damn about this shit, end of the day I am just a temp stuff. They just won't get my respect, none.

Yea, may be you would think I am still alittle young to understand office politics or may be even too childish to have said all these. 'Just follow law' will not be my style, never. As Ben said adopt the 'Fight(to justify)' approach not the 'Flight (comformance)' approach (Thanks for that wonderful advice Ben!). One might argue that comformance is that only way to succeed in a company, I beg to differ. Haiz tired to type already la~~

Just remember: The beautiful garden is only a facade of a monstrous system.

Now! On a happier note! I will be receiving a cert of merit for my dip and I am accepted into NTU! Wooooooooohooooooo! Oh Shit.... this reminds me that I am accepted into MOE ...MOE ....another statutory board. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Nvm.. I believe my passion for teaching would bring light to the evil darkness within, Mu Ha Ha.

Speaking of NTU, I applied for the BA/BSc (Edun) course a few weeks back and received a letter recently informing me that “they are please to inform me that I have been shortlisted for an interview.” Cool~ I am on step closing to fulfilling my dream of becoming a teacher!! Urmm…still my ultimate dream is to be the king of pirates!

Omg omg interview!! I hate interviews~~ makes my heart go inside out and my nervous system going crazy. Would they ask me to write an impromptu 3000 words essay! Would they ask questions like “how do u find the educational system in Singapore? Any flaws?” or “why are u pursuing this course when u have excellent grades in accounting? Why are u attracted to teaching” Questions and answers forming like whirlwind in my brain! Killing me man killing me…argh hack it

To my horror I saw this note in the letter “ you are being considered for for BA/BSc course at NTU with specialization in General/Chinese Language (Pri) teaching. OMFG (oh my freaking god)! I can like writes 30 Chinese characters and that’s about it! The (Pri) there isn’t any comforting. My sister knows more Chinese phrase and idioms than TEN of me combined! …..urmmm that doesn’t sound right. Man.. they are crazy for considering me for Chinese language… I will go crazy also!! See if my prayer above works or not… if it works mayb I pray again. May the force be with me!

YoYo! I'm currently studying on a module known as AFA - Accounting for Assets. Honestly half the time during tutorials and all the time during lectures I don't a peanut about the *H** the *H** lecturer is mumbling about and that doesn't really bothers me. I do however noted a very important point in one of the lecture - that we must all accountable for all our assets be it their face value, depreciated value, historical value we must account for all those *R**. Now now let me get to the point of this post... hehee

Since I have been locked down at home for the past FIVE DAYS! and would probably be locked for another FIVE DAYS! due to some unfortunate encounter with chickens... (if u r thinking that i kena bird flu you r wrong! I kena chicken pox hahahaha). I would like to take the opportunity to account for all my personal assets! Why am I announcing that here? because during Accounts lecture we have been taught a vital Accounting Principal that is called "Transparency". A young girl's desperate cry for "daddy" broke the slience that had embraced the green pavalion early this morning. It created a small commotion as vistors started gathering around the girl each attempting to calm her down.

Me awoken from my brief morning nap at the counter desk as usual was reasonably quick to react.

Doing my very best to comfort the child and at the same time struggling to maintain a professional image to the half dozen pair of kpo eyes.

The little girl's tiny hand clenched firmly around my fingers, feeling more secured her loud crys eased to soft sobs.

I asked for her name, in between her sobs she murmured words i could not register. I dialed the ranger hotline but before i could complete my message, the girl's family appeared suddenly and disappear as fast.

No thank you? I was wondering. Maybe another day...

Hello Hello good afternoon to whoever is still reading my blog. Well Well.. I am finally bored enough to start writing an entry again woot. Almost 2 months into my holidays what have i been up to!! I am been working as a temp in the Botanic Gardens woot! Tired of breathing in the bloody haze lately, no fear just drop by the garden n you would be rejuvenated within seconds (plenty of o2 here u know?) - Quality Guaranteed. Me is working as a visitor service officer (not customers service, cos we only have visitors no customers hor..) Came across many many pretti n nice flowers n big big trees with real cute names like Kapok. Rare Occasion

We met around 2 years ago but it always seems like we have never met. One class of 25 mates was often splited into half a dozen groups. The class gathering last week was truly a

rare ocassion.

The day started slow, few turned up at the planned time (okok I was one of the late comers too). The weather was gloomy initially with dark clouds looming and cruel little droplets of rains attacking your head causing pimples to sprout on your head, opps i think that only applies to ...... hehe. Ok enough talk of the weather, a quater pass 3 the one and only hero finally emerged to start the fire for the BBQ!! Yes! You' guessed it, the hero is me! (yaya~ I am suffering from ego disorder recently, so let me call myself hero for once). Within miniutes the hero started a fire that is comparable to mount doom! A BIG boo boo to all the boys in my class, fancy playing balls n not offering help when they can observe that I am clearly suffering before Mount Doom.

Eventually more mates arrived. The food was decent (kowtow to the few who had prepared so much food). The breeezy weather was perfect for activities. "Cooked" BBQ food was typically left untouched. We( most of us) had fun I guess.

Back to school, more or less it is back to the way it always has been. Back to being strangers...

70 years and going strong

Celebrated my Grand Mother's 70th birthday yesterday. A strong woman and a wonderful Po Po.

She's 70 and she's operating a food store with my aunt, yep just the 2 of them. Being that way since I was born. I visited her often at her store when I was young, I would be treated to my favourite water chestnut drink and a plate of chicken rice from her store neighbour, Ah Huat (ya i know typical name). She always cooked my fav dishes for dinner when I was over.

But since I entered my teenage years, my visits dropped. Been a restless teen, I always prefered to engage in other activities than to sit in her living room watching tv. Sometimes it was my laziness to travel and my bed addiction that made me reluctant to visit her. Sometimes i felt bad, sorry PoPo! As I grow older (and wiser), I realised the need of keeping closer touch. -Abesence made the heart grow fonder-

Once a upon a time, there is a certain school in a certain country. How perfect it looks, with its "hospital like" facade and seemingly remarkable reuptation.

Lets dig some dirt!

(guess dirt digging has become Singapore's favourite pasttime since the NKF saga)

A certain director of a certain school, been in the same office for more than 10 years. Believe it or not? 10 f**king years and still don't feel like shifting his/her butt.

Fine, people may argue "what's wrong with being in office for more than 10 years if the school is prospering?". Indeed this certain school certainly is propering, I mean in the sense of dollars and cents. As Yoda might say- Driven by greed the director is.

Prices of items sold in the school's shopping district are all inflated. Hard to believe? Just compare the cost for yourself. What f**king angered me is the fact that employees of this shopping district are NOT paid a damn single cent!
This certain school would just claim that all the revenue generate would go back into the system to enhance the free labour's learning experience.
Employees would not be paid, instead be graded.
Very cunning way for this employer to ensure running of the school- tapping on the student's only fear and nightmare which is of course a F grade.

17year old students reaching home just before midnight often on weekdays due to late school activities and lectures. 4 to 5 hours of break in between lessons.
Something wrong? Of course!
You might want to believe the director's very wise excuse: WE PROVIDE YOU WITH THE BREAK FOR YOU GUYS TO DO YOUR PROJECTS/GROUPWORK AND ACCESS TO OUR SCHOOL FACILITIES.

What a load of rubbish! Unless he is totally ignorant he would be well aware that students do not have projects/groupwork every single day for the full 16 weeks.

The real reason: there's a lack of staff. Staff are quitting yet the director refuse to employ more. Most are working on double work load thus schedule are so packed they don't even have time for their own students.

Dictactorial, manipulative and bearing uncunning similarity to Mr. Tee Tee Durian that's how you could describe our dear director. Feedbacks and suggestions by employees were never taken into consideration, Warning: it would only backfire.

Ok that's all I shall stop for now. Think about it.

Hello!

Been around 2 weeks since I wrote a decent post... or rather it has been 2 weeks since I posted any post. Actually I was trying to lay low recently with all the blog hacking going on, my blog would certainly be in great risk (judging by its popularity). ok ok fine, I will cut the craps.

My life ain't really eventful for the past 2 eventful weeks (with bombs going off every now and then in countries). Routines were as usual were routinely managed. Hair growing frizzier as it would have grown; shit la that day just cut my lips using my dad's blunt razor :'( should have used the automatic shaver (but got weird smell, wonder why~) .

The release of 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince' was perhaps the best treat I had so far into 2005. It wasn't the story alone that makes it special to me. It was my favourite book. My first novel. The book is just soooooooo coool!!!!! okok... i know i know... i sounded childish. >:P Couple of days after I bought the book, couple of old friends ring me up to borrow the book - guess I am still being rememberd as the harry potter siao (Frankly I was not siao over it, I am still not siao over it). I just find joy in spreading harry potterism. I haven't spoke to that couple of good old friends for no less than a year , it's amazing how a book could bring friends back together. I tried to recall but I couldn't remember a period where my series of Harry Potter books are whole. Truely magical.

As usual! I reached school earlier than 8am today!

As usual, went up with my friends to Mcdonald for breakfast.

As usual, we engaged in mundane conversation.

As usual, only one of my friends bought food.

The unusual started to happen

My friend came back embarassed that she forgot to scan my card

I stared at her

I sprinted out of the school as if I was training for London 2012.

Waited for a cab for like 2minutes. Missed 2 trains

Back home, changed my attire so quick superman would envy.

Can you believe it ? Mr. David Beckham(yes! Captain of England/ Real Madrid Galatico/ Man with high profile affairs) actually came to my school, yes right through my schoolgates and YES right up my school stage.

Publicity was kept at the very minimum, nobody really believes that Mr. Beckham would come even if they were told. One good example: My sister gave me "that look" when i told her and announce sarcastically loud to my parents "Beckham is coming to NYP"! and started laughing insanely telling me that I am nuts

Nevertheless Mr. David Beckham arrived just on time, entering the overpacked auditorium. The Rule was simple: He smile, you scream. Weeeee, AHHHHHHH, wooooOOOO and basically all sorts of funny noises were heard endlessly. He was here to present the NYAA Gold award(people were asking "what's NYAA???").

Cameras were clicking feverishly, "I love you~~" were heard occasionally when he was on stage and there was once some shouted........ "WHY DID YOU MISS THE PENALTY??" haha...how I would love to see the england captain's expression(he was not facing me).

To the delight of all audiences, he made a speech. ..... (i will quote the speech here soon, stay tune~)

The Execrable* Project

In a certain school in a certain part of the famous Singapore, The Execrable Project aka TEP terror students from all over the school.

People were kept imprisoned daily 8.30am to 6.00pm (not a minute less) in large frosting chamber. Forced to stare meaninglessly at bright meaninless screen, slowly damaging the eye and aching the brain. How sad is that ?

Though it is a wonderful place where everyone gets to meet amazing people, it is also a place where eveyone meet horrible people. People infected with spider diseases are topping the " you pissed me off" chart (please refer to www.siaoeh-kuku.blogspot.com for more gruesome details of the disease). SA aka Situation Awareness also flows freely among the population (please refer to www.contradictoryparadoxes.blogspot.com for aweful facts about SA). As you may have guessed, SA is currently very popular on the "you pissed me off chart" ranking no. 2 following the spider disease very very closely on the chart. I shall go through the chart no more........

Horror tales about The Execrable Project generates by the hour. It's would be almost uncountable after one has complete the project. A surprisingly large number of students had survived the period of the project (this proves how strong we young singaporeans are!) however most leave with unforgettable memories. I would let your imagination decides what those memories are like and what it had done to people. :)

This is the end of my review about the legendary The Execrable Project. Bless all who survived.

0000 -The wait started. Eyes were barely open, feeling extreme fatigue.
0030 -The wait continued. Brain shutting down entered semi-conscious mode.
0100 -The "urge" rescue me from sleep. I zombied to the toilet to relief.
0130 -Slumped on my couch. Re-entering semi-conscious mode.
0225 -Internal alarm kicked in for once, I was semi- *awakened*.

1st min- GOAL!!! WHAT THE FISH HAPPENED! Liverpool is down 0-1!!!!
2nd min- Awakened! 100% alert. Heart beat at full speed.
39th min- 2-0... suffered heart attacked.

44th min- 3-0... Pulse reduced to almost ZERO.

46th min- Due to poor health condition, I was back sleeping.

My 3rd Post- Friends

Merely after a couple of couple of days and I am back writing.

In less than three weeks, I would be saying goodbye to most of my current colleagues. I would be meeting new people, in fact most of my colleagues would be seperated.

Occassionally I would hear people in my office moaned to their fellow team mates : "Sigh, few more weeks and we wont be working together anymore! Gotta meet new friends again."

We are all teenagers in our prime, meeting new people are but part and parcel of our lives now. But at what point would you consider the "people" u met to be a friend of yours? People have multiple friendster account(With a whopping total of 2000+ friends), but do they really have 2000+ friends? Do they even know every single person in their huge account?

Nevertheless it's up to you to define the term friendship. People may like to categorize their friends into 'best friends', 'good friends', 'close friends', 'normal friends' bla bla. Fortunate(or you may say sadly) for me, I dont manage such a large league of friends. Promoting 'good friends' to 'best friends' or relegating 'best friends to normal friends' is jus not my forte.

My Second Post- Sister

After ALMOST 2 long months of breakss, I am back! All power-up to start composing my second post.

Let's reveal more about me. I have a little sister Hui Min born in 1993. Yep, 6 long years of gap between us.

The light side
She's my little multi-tasked remote control. Being the laziest around home, I am very fortunate to have this little sister to switch on the tv for me, deliver my newspaper , record my show, bring me my ringing phone and serve most things to my bed.

She's an over achiever. Badges is all over her uniform, prefect....,maths coach,...monitor. OMG i hate it, she is making me feel so inferior. Ermm... should i actually feel proud ? Afterall i am the one who's coaching her math! So i'm the math coach's coach/coach of math's coach! How cool's that.

The Dark Side (she dun visit blog sites, so fine to expose few of her "habits" here SHhh)
She apprantly enjoy Digging her.... nose. Often you would find her slouching on the couch digging away happily. All complains of disgust and any sarcasim from ME is repeatedly being ignored happily by her. I can only hope that i wont come across of her nose "shit" (to date i have not YET come across it, amazing!"). If she ever dare display her nose "shit"... urm i would think of something.

Her room is a gabage box.. so many books, files, papers and tissues that it flooded out daily to the living room. Her room table is so packed which made it almost useless.. I think she should consider replacing her table with a rubbish bin. The table in the living room is forever mountained with books, i am actually quite impressed with her ability to work efficiently on her table.
